“There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea.”

– Henry James

Yesterday I had the great pleasure of hosting an intimate afternoon tea for friends who inspire me and whom I have had the honour of featuring in my At Home With Style Series.

There is really nothing quite like coming together around a table, sharing tea, cake and stories!

I wanted to share some highlights with you to perhaps inspire and delight you to put a date in your diary and invite friends around your table.

A little garden set-up but owing to the rainy weather this plan had to be abandoned!

Table close up, monogrammed linens giving my table a personalised touch

In my dining room fluffy pink peonies add charm and whimsy to my spring table

A jug of sparkling elderflower, in my opinion the most refreshing afternoon drink

You cannot have afternoon tea without cake.  This one was inspired by my friend Shabnam Russo who was a finalist in the BBC Program, The Jubilee Pudding – 70 Years in the Baking

Homemade and shop bought treats sitting pretty – I always try to home make much as I can but I try not to overwhelm myself with too many things to do so I love to add a few special treats!

Thank you SO much to Emily Claire Clarke, Kate and Amy for coming over!

Have a lovely week, Clara x
